DIY Prototyping Backpack + Consult 15/05
Last week we worked on making the final DIY prototype of the backpack. We cutted the cardboard reinforcement along with the textile patterns based on the shell size and CAD model. Because we wanted to hide the seams, we also added a blue inner lining. After a lot of stitching, the textile part is done. Now the last thing left is to connect the hard shell to the textile and add a convenient connections for the side flaps. At the consult we were reminded to go deeper in defining the affordances & product semantics. We also got answers to our questions of how we needed to tackle assembly processes and logistics in our report. Finally we talked about how we can estimate product costs over different production series.
